Professionals

Dear Professionals,
good that you made it here!

For your work with persons from affected communities, we collected and grouped specific content - of course, it is far from being complete and not always up to date, but it may at least connect you with organisations possibly relevant for you.

Please go to our German website – it offers links to

  • Further information about FGM
  • Guidelines for your practical work
  • Hand-outs for your patients or clients
  • Some material in English

BTW: Important tips for all professions can be found here: https://www.letstalkfgm.nhs.uk/

Beyond the dedicated subpage for you, you can use many other parts of the website in the language of your preference:

  • Many questions you might have regarding FGM are just the ones your patients or clients have. Therefore, please use the tailored Q&A subpages according to the applicable role your patient/client has: survivor, girl at risk, family member, or other community member. You’ll find answers to topics related to your profession (healthcare, social work, childcare, school, legal, etc.)

  • Possibilities for networking can be found using the contact search (select ‘Fachkräfte – Vernetzung’); we recommend selecting also the organisations working in different places in Germany as they may be active close to you.

  • The contact search also covers organisations offering access to further information, trainings, and events - select‚ Fachkräfte – Wissen‘.

  • Last but not least, the lay persons’ pages, especially the videos, can be shared with your patients or clients, e.g., as a starter for counselling or treatment – there are various languages!
